Recap:
t’s Prom night and nothing goes as expected. And in Tree Hill that’s not a shocker, I guess.
Fake Derek holds Peyton hostage at her own house and things would have been worse if Brooke hadn’t come over. Since Derek is clearly obsessed with Peyton, she pretends she is in love with him and tells him she wants to kill Brooke herself. As soon as she catches the knife, she manages to stab Derek but he is still not knocked out. Anyway, in the end Peyton and Brooke manages to save themselves, without even Lucas’ help – yep, there is always a first time. Brooke points out: "I guess now it’s hoes over psychos." It seems after the whole drama, they’re starting to mend their differences.
Rachel doesn’t feel ready to get on her plane, so she shows up at prom. Principal Turner reminds her she is not allowed to enter. As soon as she starts walking away, Mouth goes with her. Since he keeps talking about Shelly, Rachel tells him not to mention her anymore. Mouth figures Rachel is saying this because he’s boring her, but that’s not true, actually. "No, you’re making me jealous". Mouth looks stunned, and so are we.
Lucas is sad because Peyton didn’t even open the door when he went to pick her up, so talks to Glenda. Meanwhile, Dan and Karen are so dangerously close that Karen ends up telling him she might have feelings for him, again. Unfortunately, Dan’s life is not only full of romance but he is haunted by someone who knows Dan murdered his brother. Dan gets suspicious about Lucas, even though he’s not responsible.
Rachel and Mouth arrive at the airport, there they have their last dance. After that, Rachel asks him if he wants to go with her. At first he refuses, but then he changes his mind and decides to be the "dangerous" one, for once.
Haley and Nathan spend an unusual prom. Their car breaks up, their friends aren’t around, the punch is spiked and they also have to get home a drunk kid, who can’t help but talk about Nathan-Brooke’s famous tape. Anyway, their prom turns into a romantic night, as soon as Nathan reads Haley the prediction he wrote some months ago. "Haley and I will be together again by graduation".
Breaking news. Lucas finally remembers there was a girl hidden in the hallway when Keith was killed, Abby.
